Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland14/06/2016
Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN), the government agency that provides public information on the Caribbean islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba on behalf of the Dutch ministries, has launched a completely new website. This new site, which was developed by Hyarchis using the company’s web content management solution Hyarchis Waxtrapp, is intended to provide information to residents, organisations and institutions on those three islands. The prerequisite for RCN was that the website needed to meet the ‘web guidelines’ instituted by the Dutch national government. These specify, among other things, that government websites must be easy for the public to view and use, and to find (through search engines).
Hyarchis transferred the website to Hyarchis Waxtrapp and arranged hosting as well. RCN opted to go with Hyarchis because this would give them a single point of contact for all aspects of the website, from development and management to hosting. Moreover, Hyarchis Waxtrapp includes many modules and functionalities specifically designed for government use and which are easy to integrate when additional services are added. Thanks to the new system, visitors to the website have access to information that is visually attractive and easier to find.
