Economic upswing boosting online collaboration in mortgage industry

Eindhoven, 16 December 2015 – Three out of four mortgage professionals see the economic upswing as the source of the pressure to start collaborating online with customers. Thirteen percent don’t feel this pressure at all however. These figures emerged from a survey of 498 professionals from the banking, insurance, pension, mortgage and accountancy sectors, carried out by Markteffect at the request of Hyarchis, specialist in content and online collaboration solutions.

The rising pressure in the mortgage industry for more online collaboration with customers can be explained by several developments. As the respondents indicated, the healthier economy accounts for a good part of this. But the rise of disruptors in the mortgage market and consumers who want to do more on their own are also major causes. Of the mortgage professionals who are already collaborating online with their customers, a healthy majority (66%) rate the efficiency of this approach as good to very good.

Serge Leclercq, Sales Director at Hyarchis: “Mortgage professionals have good intuition when it comes to the future of their industry. It’s good to see that most of them see the upswing in the economy as a sign to make their move. Collaborating with their customers online will help them to strengthen and hold their competitive position in 2016. And with the arrival of the new mortgage providers, that’s certainly important.”
